I. All films not spoken in English MUST have English language subtitles.

II. All entry fees are non-refundable.

III. Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted, with separated submission and separated entry fees that will accompany each entry. However, in repeated entries of the same project, only the last entry will be considered. 

If one film is submitted on more than 1 category, it will compete on only one category decided by the Selection Comitee (for example: if a film is submitted on Documentary Film and Student Film, the Selection Comitee will decided if it's selected to Documentary or Student competition) 

IV. The decisions of the festival selection committee and jury will be final and indisputable.

V. Films that are submitted MUST BE the entrant’s original work, and SHALL NOT infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required copyright permission, regarding music, sound, images and etc. presented in their film. Therefore filmmakers MUST have all rights associated with their films and allow “South America Awards” to use clips for publicity purposes, including uploading a clip, trailer, Poster and/or Image online.

VI. By Submitting your project to South America Awards, you allow our Festival to use press materials from the film (such as still photos, posters, trailers and clips) for promotional purposes in our website and social media. Therefore, all films selected for the Festival grant to South America Awards the rights to use press materials from the films for promotional purposes.

VII. The burden of obtaining copyright and all proprietary interests for the submitted material rests solely on the applicant.

VIII. South America Awards organizers reserve the rights to change, cancel or re-schedule the dates, awards & categories without prior consent or information to contestants.

IX. The organizers reserve the right not to award any or all of the prizes.

X. We, as the festival organizers understand that:
a) Feature films are films with 60 minutes of length and above.
b) Short films are films with more than 1 minute and less than 59 minutes of length
c) South American Films are films produced on South American countries, which are: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. 

XI. "South America Awards" will not publish the full-length film without the permission of the submitter. If the filmmaker decides not to show film online, we will screen the short privately to the Festival Jury. Only the winners of "Best Film" in each competition (Feature, Narrative Short, Experimental, Documentary and Student) will be screened on our website, if permited by the filmmaker.

XII. We do not require premiere status. We accept films from 2013 and beyond (2013-)

XIII. Films must be submitted in the correct category or else it will be directly disqualified.

XIV. South America Awards is a bi-monthly Film Festival in which 10 competitions will happen throghout the next months. 

The Bi-Monthly Competition Winners will compete in the "Best of the Season" competition by the end of the Festival.

Entries that aren't disqualified or not-selected by the selection committee and jury (i.e. films that has the judging status of Undecided) will have the chance to continue in the dispute and compete in other bi-monthly competitions thorughout the Season.

XV. As a South American Film Festival we ensure promotional entry fees to films produced on South America countries, but this doesn't mean that South American Films are going to have selecting nor judging advantages compared to films from other continents, this special condition is only for the entry fee. 

Films of the following countries fits on this condition: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. 

Films submitted on the South American Films categories that weren't produced in any of these countries will be DISQUALIFIED.

COPYRIGHTS
By submitting your film to our festival you agree that your piece of work (full film, trailer) can be uploaded/embed on our website. The filmmaker/institution that is submitting the film must own the rights to do so and is responsible for the content they are providing. By submitting, the filmmaker allows South America Awards to create a page for their film without infringing the copyright of any kind of form. Filmmakers can make a request via email to remove the film link at any time.

DISCLAIMER
The applicant agrees to have read and accepted the rules & regulations for participation in the “South America Awards”.
The applicant confirms that he/she has the requisite authority or has obtained the requisite authority from the producer/right holder to enter this film in the “South America Awards” and make available the print for screening. Under NO circumstance, the authorities of “South America Awards” will not entertain or be answerable to anyone else apart from the applicant.

NOTIFICATIONS
After a film has been selected for the film competition, the filmmaker is notified via email only. The selected films will be published on the festival website. All films which are selected/nominated for the competition will be informed only by emails, social media & listed on the festival website. No inquiries or arguments will be entertained regarding non-selected films. The decision of the selection committee and jury will be final and indisputable.
